hi- this is twinkle toes . I need your help. In order to proceed we need to establish our charter , constition, mission statement , logo, membership and contribution letter. In order to do this I need your ama number and your feedback. please read the attachment, tell me what you think and attach your ama number and email address or phone number . thx

ps - please fill out profile so we can know more about you

Full Throttle for a Sweeter Ride

Most riders either sport or cruiser revel when another rider comments on their choice of ride whether it is stock or custom. My sweet ride has nothing to do with a machine, but rather with what happens from the moment I wake up to the moment I lay my head hits the pillow. The ride I’m talking about is life and what I do with it.

When I twist that throttle and the tires grip the asphalt and forward motion drives me deep into that seat, I feel an infusion of adrenaline and wonder. The sounds of the engine muscling its way through the exhaust pipes remind me of the fragility of life’s nuances.

Defying the wind and battling the rain and the elements are a reaffirmation that I live and breath a bikers credo—I ride to live and live to ride.

If any person would exemplify the glory of two wheeled flight it would be the disabled rider. Self-pity, pain and physical challenges disappear as you see the world becoming smaller in your rear vie mirrors. Disabled riders adapt, adjust and travel
just like any non disabled rider.

We at the D.R.A. would like to guarantee this experience to this and other generations of disabled riders who want to fulfill their dream of riding free and living free. The camaraderie we foster is a part of our mission statement.

To pursue, promote and protect the interests of disabled motorcyclists ; to develop a better awareness of disabled rider issues, by both disable and non-disabled riders alike. To provide assistance where possible to disabled riders and to create better informed and more enthusiastic relations between the general public, the media, and motorcyclists. To provide events and encourage participation of both disabled and non-disabled riders. To promote discussion among members of matters pertaining to motorcycles and support for the disabled rider community and in general to perform any acts therewith not forbidden by the laws of the United States.
The D.R.A. is a not for profit organization that wants and needs your membership. We want to embrace disabled and non disabled rider or even the non riding enthusiast , with the hope of a better tomorrow. A more integrated future. We want the opportunity to have a disabled riders run.
For $ 35.00 dollars a year and $ 30.00 dollars for current A.M.A. members you can be a member and wear our D.R.A. patch, which signifies your commitment to a better future for all riders.

Please send your dues or tax deductible contributions to the address listed above.

With sincere gratitude and appreciation,

Hi Robin
I read the letter and inserted some really minor edits for your consideration. I hope you don't mind. Also , I'm wondering how you all feel about referring to ourselves as handicapped rather than disabled. Speaking for myself on this, I don't consider myself disabled or even differently abled. Rather, I do live with a physical handicap that requires me to do things differently . But the point is I am,  as we all are , ABLE. Just something to consider.

Also are you guys collecting dues? If so where do I send it?

Where in Jersey are you guys? Maybe we could meet up and talk stuff over sometime? I live near Lk. Hopatcong.

I'm going to try and attach the letter now.

Talk to you soon.

be well
Tom

hmmm, couldn't attach so I inserted it.

Hey guys I read the letter and you asked for input so don't get mad at me but I myself am not a "BIKER" I am a Motorcyclist who has heard all the loud piped noise makers I care too. I think there has been way too much built into this biker look already and alot of the non riding public would like to outlaw motorcycles alltogether just because of a few who insist on being a pain. This being said we as disabled run into a lot of stuff out there just because of this  ( You can ride that thing there is nothing wrong with you ) and a lot of the medical people calling them donorcycles. When we talk about biker credos and exhaust noise in the charter personally I think we are sending the wrong message as to what the club should stand for as trying to protect the disabled from narrow minded discrimination not adding to it. like I said don't get mad but this is my opinion and like ellbows everbody has some

Hi Sue,
You need to fill out a membership application from the membership page which i believe you did,  and fill out your profile on the forum page. And if you are an AMA member you need to give us your AMA number and if you are not we suggest you join which you can do through us at a $5 discount. It will cost you $34 to go through us. Let me know.
Thanks,
HW
